Morten Lund Danish drummer, born September 13 1972 was
part of Prize Winner Enrico Rava's JAZZPAR 2002 Sextet.
Morten Lund graduated 1997 from the Royal Danish Academy of Music. He
is considered one of the most exciting drummers on the Scandinavian jazz
scene since the arrival of Alex Riel in the early 60s.
Based in Copenhagen, he is one of Denmarks most
in demand free-lance musicians. Lund is a member of about ten steady working
Scandinavian bands.
The young Danish drummer has recorded more than 30 albums
as a sideman, and has toured internationally and appeared at many festivals.
Despite his young age, Morten has already played and recorded with top
names such as James Moody, Johnny Griffin, Tom Harrell, John Abercrombie,
Paquito D´Rivera, Benny Golson, Bob Mintzer, Deborah Brown, Kenny
Werner, Jerry Bergonzi.
Morten Lund is like a high-wire performer. His playing
may be witty yet always intense and watchful.
In the 60s it was NHØP and Alex Riel who accompanied
the visiting American soloists today its Lund and bassist
Jesper Bodilsen. For years they have been partners, backing Danish and
international soloists of high caliber.
