JAZZPAR Artists - Daniel Humair
Daniel Humair, b. May 23, 1938, was part of Prize Winner Martial Solal's JAZZPAR 98 Trio.

Humair, Swiss by birth, have worked closely with Martial Solal off and on since Humair moved to Paris four decades ago. Like Solal, Humair has a rare ability to adapt to jazz of almost all kinds - without losing any of the qualities of his playing. They include intensity, flexibility, a sonorous use of the drum kit and a highly developed sense of shading. Humair does not beat the drums. He plays them with great musicality. Consequently, he has for many years been the most sought-after drummer on the European scene. Yet, his visits to Denmark have been few and far between.
