JAZZPAR Artists - Aage Tanggaard

Aage Tanggaard (DK), b. Feb. 25, 1957, was part of Carsten Dahl's JAZZPAR 2000 Combo.

Tanggaard has received lessons from Ed Thigpen and Michael Carvin. From the 70s onward Tanggaard played professionally in numerous Danish groups as wells as accompanying international artists visiting Denmark. He has been member of The Radio Jazz Group, Ernie Wilkins Almost Big Band, Finn Savery Trio, Thomas Clausen Trio, Svend Asmussen Quartet and Arne Domnérus/Rune Gustafsson Quintet. He has been affiliated with the NDR Big Band in Hamburg and the NDR Symphony Orchestra in Hannover besides touring Europe and Japan as member of the Duke Jordan Trio. Tanggaard has participated in numerous radio and TV programs and teaches at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen.
   You will find Tanggaard on records with Frank Foster, John McNeil, Paul Bley, Bob Rockwell, Putte Wickman, Chet Baker, Rune Gustafsson, Sir Roland Hanna, Jesper Thilo, Warne March, Doug Raney, Horace Parlan and many other jazz musicians who appreciate his intelligent, fluent and adroit drum playing.
